So bf was sick during vday weekend. Apparently there’s something bad going around. Knowing my track record, I was bound to get it, but I saw him anyway…just cuz I wanted to. I figured I might as well try my best to jump my immune system and see if it’d help. I remembered all those commercials on Airborne…boosting your immuse system, fighting off colds, preventing colds and crap. Well I never knew this, but apparently they were sued for false advertising by some states and paid a crap load of money for their mouth full. I decided to give it a try anyway. It’s really just supposed to boost your immune system to help your body fight off germs better. I figured it’d be at least worth a try since it probably wasn’t gonna do me any harm. So I purchased a generic brand and took it as directed. They’re just big tablets you dissolve in water. It was kinda weird to drink at first, but really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It’s been a week and I haven’t gotten sick and I’m feeling totally fine. I’m not saying this stuff works wonders, but it’s pretty rare for me not to get sick around the sick. S and I have a strange sick connection. Whenever she or I get sick, we get the other one sick… whether we see each other or not. Odd, but rather true. Considering all the kiddies I have to work with, I think I might try investing in this stuff more often. These guys just cough all over their hands then rub it on their papers before they turn it in. It’s lovely. If I do end up getting sick some day, I try experimenting with this stuff and see how fast it takes for me to get over my sickness.
So we’re not tooo big on vdays anymore, but we do like to acknowledge that we still give a crap about each other. Of course that could be shown any other day of the year, but it’s also just an excuse for us to eat a lot of yummies.
The dude woke me up with my favorites. Unfortunately my priorities lie in sleep. They’re gorgeous though and they make our living room smell ten times better than before.
Of course I refuse to get dressed, so he order Thai from the nearby Thai99 restaurant. delishhhh
My pad thai and his pangnang curry? I think. He decided to try the “authentic thai” heat, and concluded that it was quite the kick. I can barely make my way through medium.
Then he took me to walmart and starbucks for a vday date. My kind of man!! I should probably mention that I love going to walmart. As much as people hate it and think it’s not worth it, for an aspiring teacher and college student, it makes my life a little bit easier. He on the other hand disagrees, but this just goes to show how much he cares 😛 haha
I can’t go a day without coffee, so I got my fix at Starbucks. It’s always a splurge to go to starbucks but I got my soy vanilla latte and it prevented a headache and grumpiness so i’d say it’s worth it.
For dinner, we had marinated some short ribs and pan fried some kalbi. Stir fried some broccoli and snow pea tips, made some rice, and called it a meal. Simple, easy, and yummy. Had it with some pino grigio, which I soon realized is not my forte. I probably had it too quickly, and the fact that he was sick and couldn’t taste it, encouraged me to finish the rest of the bottle. Basically, towards the end of the night, I was drinking from the bottle, and a few hours later I was hanging out with the toilet. Despite my brief visit to the toilet, it was still a great day of food, food, shopping, and more food. 😀
I woke up to the wind hitting my window and was scared like crap to leave the apartment. When I finally gather up the courage and coffee to do so, I step outside and I can’t believe the warm weather blowing at my face! What is with this 40mph 55 degree wind?! I’m slightly confused. It’s not nice or anything, but it’s not the miserable cold face-freezing wind we usually get. I’m gonna have a heck of a drive today. Tomorrow is supposed to be similar… :-/
Stupid thing forced me to write a blog. There’s nothing new to stalk on facebook and there aren’t that many distractions left after that, so I’ve resorted to blogging. I could sit here and complain about how much I despise this course and how I have a high chance of failing, but I’d rather not. Instead, I’m gonna blog about how horrible my hair dying experience was.
So I used the all natural hair dye product that S gave me. I’m not sure what else is in it, but I know there’s coffee beans. The directions simply say to soak it in water for 2-3 hours… doesn’t say how much water. I start with a little bit of water and add more to get as pasty of a consistency as I can. I guess I added too much water, cuz by the time it ends up in my hair, it’s dripping all over the place. But you would think letting it soak in water is supposed to make it thicker or something. It was pure chaos. I almost gave up and washed the stuff out, but I had already been waiting three hours for it to soak, I wasn’t about to let it go to waste. So I spent the last two hours of my wait wiping dye off my face. After I washed it out, the color turned out okay and my hair was surpisingly silky soft…but it STUNK. The smell was horrible. It smelled like rotting vegetables and sour coffee. I washed my hair over and over again for a week, and I still couldn’t get the stink out. I eventually had to resort to redying my hair with my good old herbal essensence, which got the smell out. Oy…never trying that again. It totally wasn’t worth the silk.
I’ve been watching this over and over again.
Laugh out loud every time.
I didn’t realize they gave kids such strong meds?
So the best friend(S) and I got together a week or so ago in an effort to dye my hair. After reading the directions on this natural hair dye (soak in water for 2-3 hrs, leave in hair for 3-4 hrs) we decided to save the idea for another time. It’s supposed to lighten the color of your natural hair color… I guess we’ll see. Maybe I’ll have a go at it another time.
S spent the night on youtube watching random videos and came across a video on spicy honey mustard chicken wings… very strange, but I decided to go with it. It was really easy…just some wings in the oven and honey, two different mustards, siracha hot sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper.
