Vday

February 18, 2009 by special k

phpgGL42SSo we’re not tooo big on vdays anymore, but we do like to acknowledge that we still give a crap about each other. Of course that could be shown any other day of the year, but it’s also  just an excuse for us to eat a lot of yummies.
The dude woke me up with my favorites. Unfortunately my priorities lie in sleep. They’re gorgeous though and they make our living room smell ten times better than before.
Of course I refuse to get dressed, so he order Thai from the nearby Thai99 restaurant. delishhhh
phpF1RsfWMy pad thai and his pangnang curry? I think. He decided to try the “authentic thai” heat, and concluded that it was quite the kick. I can barely make my way through medium. phpYcrv2w
Then he took me to walmart and starbucks for a vday date. My kind of man!! I should probably mention that I love going to walmart. As much as people hate it and think it’s not worth it, for an aspiring teacher and college student, it makes my life a little bit easier. He on the other hand disagrees, but this just goes to show how much he cares :-P haha
I can’t go a day without coffee, so I got my fix at Starbucks. It’s always a splurge to go to starbucks but I got my soy vanilla latte and it prevented a headache and grumpiness so i’d say it’s worth it.
phpgM21cAFor dinner, we had marinated some short ribs and pan fried some kalbi. Stir fried some broccoli and snow pea tips, made some rice, and called it a meal. Simple, easy, and yummy. Had it with some pino grigio, which I soon realized is not my forte. I probably had it too quickly, and the fact that he was sick and couldn’t taste it, encouraged me to finish the rest of the bottle. Basically, towards the end of the night, I was drinking from the bottle, and a few hours later I was hanging out with the toilet. Despite my brief visit to the toilet, it was still a great day of food, food, shopping, and more food. :-D

Awwww… but Walmart? Yucks! Or maybe that’s just the one here. It’s all crampy and everyone’s rude and/or doesn’t know where anything is, etc.

    Yum Thai! And kalbi! :)
    Post up your marinade recipe?

    Also, rotate your photo. :p

haha way too lazy to make it from scratch. we used store bought stuff. we’ve been meaning to invent our own recipe, but never really get to it.

That Thai food looks very good! Wine gets to me pretty quickly too, in a bobble-head kinda’ way. And what’s with the fork and plate?! You’re supposed to use a bowl so you can properly execute the chopstick shovel!! Asian Fail!
